LAUGHS IN SPANISH

by Alexis Scheer

Directed by Anna Skidis Vargas and featuring Jenna Bonofiglio, Isa Condo-Olvera, Arash Fakhrabadi, Ashley Oviedo, and Rána Roma

September 22 - October 8, 2023 | Studio Theatre

On the eve of a major art festival Mariana has even more major problems—her gallery is an active crime scene, she has no art to show, and her semi-estranged larger-than-life television star mother has arrived to save the day.  Part crime comedy, part telenovela, and a playful look at mother-daughter relationships and the challenges of being a working parent, Scheer’s hilarious and heartfelt new comedy “serves a laugh a minute” (OnStageColorado.com).

THE NOT-SO-ACCIDENTAL CONVICTION OF ELEVEN MILWAUKEE "ANARCHISTS"

by Martín Zimmerman

Directed by Artistic Director Brent Hazelton and featuring

Elyse Edelman, King Hang, Dimonte Henning, and

Kelsey Elyse Rodriguez

April 26 - May 12, 2024 | Studio Theatre

What do you get when you cross an excommunicated Roman Catholic priest turned Third Ward Methodist missionary, Bay View’s working-class Italian “anarchist” mill workers, Winifred Zabel and one of the kangaroo-est courts ever convened, Emma Goldman, Clarence Darrow, a debutante bomb-maker, and so much more?  A can’t miss world premiere, of course, as four actors valiantly and hilariously strive to make sense of the you-wouldn’t-believe-it-if-it-weren’t-true events surrounding one of the most complicated and far-reaching moments in Milwaukee history: the 1917 bomb explosion inside the Oneida Street police station.
